Interview with Alex M.O.R.P.H.    ( 2nd of February 22:10 GMT UTC )

Interview with Alex M.O.R.P.H.
    1. The M.O.R.P.H., conceptually what does this title represent ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: "The M.O.R.P.H." represents quality electronic dance music, preferably energetic and powerful.

    2. Let's discuss Your longevity within the EDM spectrum please. What do You feel has been, and will continue to be, the ultimate key to Your overall success ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: The ultimate key was, is and will be hard work, it's true! You have to love what you do, and put all your effort and passion into this, every day. 24/7

    3. Been supported by several major top notch names for the last few years in a row, such as Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Dj Tiesto, just to name a few, the list it's huge thou, especially Paul van Dyk, how do You feel about it and what's Your final goal ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: Of course I'm happy that the stuff I do is being accepted by the fans and DJs worldwide, you cannot get a more stable confirmation that you are doing something right! My final goal? Hmmm, just keep going on, and make the M.O.R.P.H. - community bigger.

    4. What are some of Your other future goals and plans in entertainment ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: My biggest goal and plan for the future is to have an even more stable standing in this business and genre of course. I want to keep delivering quality, and I will. And last but not least, continue DJing all around the world.

    5. When it comes to production, how involved are You actually in that whole creative musical process ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: Well, if there's my name on it, you can be sure that Alex M.O.R.P.H. is the head of production in the first place. It's not a secret that I'm working together with other people in the studio, but don't think this means that others do the work and I just say "yay" or "nay"! I always put all my musical knowledge in my projects and have a great sense for sounds, mix downs, arrangement and all those processes during a production. So in the end, it's exactly what you read on the record: Alex M.O.R.P.H.

    6. When did You start considering EDM as a career choice ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: I always loved it, there was no need to consider or decide it. It just happened as things started to take off ;-)

    7. I need Your personal thought on this please. How do You find the current state of EDM spectrum nowadays and what is Your professional view on how to improve it, if there is a need of that.

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: To be honest, in many many promos that I receive each week, I'm missing the energy! I want the power back, the drive, the balls. Don't get me wrong, those "flat" tunes can also be great in certain situations, but sometimes I'm wondering how a DJ can make 80.000 people in a stadium dance, with productions like this! On the technical side they are really good mostly, but meant to be "soft". Spectrum-wise, there's not one other scene with such a wide variety of styles and sounds, I always hear something new and fresh, which is amazing and which I love!

    8. Several producers these days, will die for Your support, so what are some of Your personal favourite tracks of the moment ? Something like a personal TOP10.

    9. In terms of production, tell me further details about Your massive new single 'Sunset Boulevard' featuring Ana Criado, which is due for a full release, with new remixes, on March 1st on Sea To Sun/Loverush Digital.

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: Yeah, we received such an unbelievable amount of feedback for this track since I played it as secret opening track at Trance Energy more than one year ago, the track is growing and growing, a little wonder these days. Am more than happy that Sea to Sun/Loverush Digital picked it for the US and UK market. So it was decided to hunt down some special remixers who would be able to make a fresh interpretation of it and to re-release it in early 2010. These remixes are all highest level and top notch. Really looking forward to release them!

    10. This new track of Yours is being hammered by Armin van Buuren, achieving 'Tune Of The Week' title already, what's next ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: 2010 for Alex M.O.R.P.H. looks very promising, I can tell you! It's all just starting now and you should definitely keep an eye on my projects for this year. A Big M.O.R.P.H. - Munster is hidden and will catch YOU !!!

    11. I have seen this comment lately, related to Your latest track, that goes like this "His latest single demonstrates his huge commitment to pushing trance music forward", that makes me to believe that You're a man with a plan, something that You are trying to achieve, therefore, please elaborate that for me, what's Your final plan ? What's Trance's final destination ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: Haha, a final destination for Trance doesn't exist! It will always develop further and there isn't such a thing like a "final plan". Things happen, I will continue working hard as a producer and a DJ and I'm looking forward to the next months and years. I can not look into the future and tell you what I do and where I am in 2011, so I will have to pass, hahaha... Let's just wait and see!

    12. With so many achievements and huge respect You got from fans around the world and not only, also with so many years of experience, You are now considered to be one of Germany's most prominent trance producers. What are Your comments and thoughts on that ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: It's a compliment, what do you think!? :-) What else should I comment on that? For me it's prove that I'm on the right way and that people show respect for what I do, and this is a good honoring feeling!

    13. Your discography is amazing thou, with over 100 remixes to Your name, You were doing fine so far, but are there any other future tracks in the pipeline ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: Of couuuurseee, but I don't want to spoil anything, hehehe!!!!!! Just let me say: The pipeline is full, actually I cannot take any more remix requests at the moment! The schedule is closed for 2010, it sounds crazy, but it seriously is. The studio will be glowing for the next months, and I beg that the Monitoring wouldn't blow up! Whooooooooomp...

    14. The HeavensGate's show, along Woody van Eyden, it is a must listen show on weekly basis, but what else You can tell me about it, something that I am not aware of ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: With HeavensGate we are also doing events and co-ops (floors on other big events etc.) that are accepted very well and for 2010 we have some plans on the hotlist that will satisfy all of our fans for sure! We are also preparing our radioshow to be live from Woody's studio every Sunday on Germany's biggest dance music station Sunshine Live. This will be really interesting for us and the listeners! We will be LIVE !!!

    15. Is there anything else You would like to share with any fellow TranceSounders around the world, or anyone reading this exclusive interview ?

Alex M.O.R.P.H.: I can only always repeat and say THANK YOU for the support, for all the feedback and wishes coming my way, and I hope to see you all on one of my upcoming gigs! Rock on! Alex M.O.R.P.H. THE GOOD TRANCE IS BACK
