Interview with Dennis Sheperd
    1. Hi there Dennis Sheperd and thanks for having this exclusive interview with me for the website I run, TranceSound.net but please share some further details of who's Dennis Sheperd and his mission in life.

Dennis Sheperd: Hi, my pleasure. Dennis Sheperd is my alias for my more trance-orientated tracks and songs. I would describe them as a mixture between progressive, house and trance. I get my influences from every genre I am listening to and those are a lot (I am very open minded).

    2. New year started, good bye 2008, welcome 2009. What are some of your goals for this year ?

Dennis Sheperd: My goals for this year include compiling and mixing a compilation + sampler for Baroque Records, releasing follow-ups on High Contrast and Euphonic and doing some other collaborations with Reminder and tyDi.

    3. How do You feel about the reception "Run Away" got and who are the ones giving their full support so far ?

Dennis Sheperd: Oh, "Run Away" was a beautiful release in my opinion with some nice mixes and also my debut release on the legendary label Euphonic. There are a lot of people who love "Run Away", for example Above & Beyond, who played it twice in their Trance Around The World (TATW) show, or Kyau & Albert and Gareth Emery.

    4. What advice do You have for anybody who want's to follow in Your footsteps ?

Dennis Sheperd: One of my personal life mottos is: "Do something properly or not at all!" If you really want to achieve something in whatever you do, you have to work hard for it. Every day. Otherwise you won't earn much. If you keep that in mind and you always try to get better and better (by using feedback others gave you for example) you will achieve what you deserve, I am sure.

    5. Right now, the EDM is definitely different than when You first started. There is a lot of one hit wonders getting support from radio stations nowadays and people seem to like that. With all the changes, how easy would You say it is for an artist to put a song out right now ?

Dennis Sheperd: It is very easy for everyone to release a track nowadays. That is not impressive at all anymore. But it is still hard to produce a song that will live on in people's minds. And that is what it is all for in my opinion. Songs that won't be forgotten.

    6. You have been with MPFS ever since, therefore I reckon You had other offers, what made you seal the deal with them ?

Dennis Sheperd: Well, MPFS was my first label for Dennis Sheperd although I already released with other labels before too. MPFS released one of my biggest tracks up to now (Dennis Sheperd - A Tribute To Life, including a Martin Roth Remix). But nowadays my both main labels are Euphonic and High Contrast. I am still up for working with MPFS but there was not a chance until yet to release another tune with them. Let's see what the future will bring us!

    7. Please tell me what are You working on right now and what are those special "things" You look forward to achieve during 2009 ?

Dennis Sheperd: I am working on a remix for Noel Sanger's label Dissident Music as well as working on collaborations with tyDi (Australia's #1 DJ of 2008) and Reminder. One of my aims for 2009 is to achieve even more people with my music.

    8. What about Your forthcoming single "Black Sun", share with us under what label You will release it and who's going to remix it too ?

Dennis Sheperd: "Black Sun" will get released on Euphonic and will get a huge remix package with two really well known artists. Which ones I ca not reveal yet. But I will announce it soon. Just be patient.

    9. What is the deal with Cold Blue and what else You can tell me about any future projects, thinking that is "Not to late" to ask ?

Dennis Sheperd: Oh, well, Cold Blue is a good friend of mine and we know each other for many years now. We ever since sent each other tracks around to give feedback and then came the idea to do a collaboration ("Prime Of Life" was our first one). It is a great relationship and I think we are both very satisfied about the project itself. We are a very good team and it is lots of fun to work with Tobias (Cold Blue).

    10. Have You got any last words for the ones reading this amazing exclusive interview, especially the TranceSound.net members ?

Dennis Sheperd: If you became curious just check out my myspace page (www.myspace.com/dennissheperd) from time to time. I always update it as soon as possible. So you can always read the latest news. I hope you enjoyed the interview. Thanks!
