1. Hi there Claudia and thanks for having this exclusive interview for TranceSound.net in the first place.
Claudia Cazacu: Your welcome.
2. So tell me, how did You get into the EDM spectrum, being a well known Producer, Remixer and Dj ? How did it all come together ?
Claudia Cazacu: After years of clubbing I decided I wanted to DJ and so set about practicing and learning my trade. Production was the natural step and I'm please to see that my work has slowly got better and better.
3. "Freefalling"... We all know the track, we all love it too, but please tell me about this project along Audrey Gallagher.
Claudia Cazacu: I actually wrote the track over a year ago now. Originally I hadn't intended to add vocals to it but sent it over to Audrey and she liked it so we took things from there. She has the voice of an angel and loved working with her.
4. What's this project going on lately along Vicky Devine, You feeling glamorous with it ?
Claudia Cazacu: Vicky and I are friends and she often comes to visit so we thought we should really get our heads together on a track. We provided two mixes, one a little more tech trance than the other – hopefully something for everyone.
5. Are You guys going together on tour, in order to spread the word about the track ?
Claudia Cazacu: No the release came out in September and we are both working on many other projects.
6. I have been there, I have seen it, I was a part of it, the annual Trance Awards @ Ministry of Sound, London, but for You, how was the feeling to be nominated as being the "Best New Face" according to TrackitDown.net's poll ?
Claudia Cazacu: It's really a great honour to be involved with the Trance Awards. I've played at the event for the last three years but this year had the opportunity to mix one of the discs for the Euphoria album and also present the awards. Being nominated and winning the award for "Best New Face" is amazing and I am really grateful to everyone who voted and who has supported me over the past couple of years.
7. You had the chance to spin next to Markus Schulz, Menno de Jong, Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson... come on, the list goes on... just to name a few. Have You ever had this chance before ?
Claudia Cazacu: I've played alongside many of the big names whilst traveling around the world in the last couple of years.
8. Now You got the support, several tracks that belongs to You are being hammered by top notch Djs around the world, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Markus Schulz, again, just to name a few, what's next ?
Claudia Cazacu: More of the same! I have just today finished a collaboration with Mark Pledger and have lots of new releases on the way as well as a few remixes I have done including a mix of The Space Brothers "Everywhere I Go" for Armada.
9. In my humble opinion, I reckon You are one of the most successful Romanian artists living in London that made it big, what's the story behind it ?
Claudia Cazacu: I work hard!
10. According to Your latest tracks, the sound is something unique I would say, so I wonder what Your studio consist of ?
Claudia Cazacu: My home studio actually just got flooded but that means I have a nice new 27" iMac on the way. I have a Virus TI Keyboard which is just amazing and pretty much delivers every sound I need.
11. This latest compilation of Yours, the "Trance Awards Euphoria", produced by TrackitDown.net, mixed by You, Sean Tyas & Simon Patterson, what can You tell me about it ?
Claudia Cazacu: I spent weeks choosing the right tracks for the mix trying to build a journey through the best tracks from the last 12 months of trance. I'm really pleased with the album and it's great to see your CD's for sale in the shops.
12. You have been all around the world, I have seen several pictures of You almost every major club. What's next, where You are heading to ?
Claudia Cazacu: This weekend I have two dates in the UK and then I'm heading back to Russia and the Czech Republic before heading home to see my family before Christmas. It looks like I will spend Christmas in New York and New Year in Bali.
13. Can You share any further details about any forthcoming tracks from Your label "Couture" ?
Claudia Cazacu: We have a new release every week into next year and I'm really pleased with how the label is going. The sounds of the label has changed from tech trance to more uplifting trance and the quality of the tracks coming in is always getting better and better.
14. Have You got any advices for the ones trying to follow on Your foot steps ?
Claudia Cazacu: Stay focused and work hard. You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.
