Interview with Ahmet Atasever
    1. Hi there mate, how's everything nowadays, how do You feel ?

Ahmet Atasever: Hey Mate, yeah good things are well in swing and life's great. Can't complain and if you do no one listens right? :P

    2. Give the world a little bit of information, related to Your music background please.

Ahmet Atasever: I have been working with Matt Darey, and running his record label "Darey Products" for about 4 years now. I also helped build his radio show "Nocturnal" which has really taken off. Outside work with Matt I have my own podcast/show called "Voyage to Valinor" which is a monthly mix of Progressive, Trance and anything else I like. I also do a bit of producing, I'm working on 2 tracks at the moment which will hopefully be finished soon and released sooner.

    3. In terms of gigs, I have seen a lot from you thou, were You touring on Your own or opening up for another act ?

Ahmet Atasever: A mixture of both I think, but more supporting bigger acts. I have supported people like Cosmic Gate, Roger Shah, Matt Darey, Agnelli & Nelson, Andy Moor, Tenishia, Terry Ferminal as well as playing at parties such as Sensation, Trance Energy, Gatecrasher, Gods Kitchen.

    4. Out of the places You have toured so far, where do You like the most ?

Ahmet Atasever: There's no place like Home. I think the Aussies have to be the most up for it and knowledgeable crowd. Not to discredit other crowds but we know how to have a good time.

    5. What is it like working with Matt Darey ?

Ahmet Atasever: Busy! He is a very hard working, focused and determined man. I have also learnt a lot from him as he has been in the industry a long time and knows a lot of the ins and outs, it has been a great and invaluable learning experience.

    6. I always wanted to know, what's Your secret when it comes to PR and Management... What have You learned just in the last couple of years of the EDM business for instance ?

Ahmet Atasever: If I told you it wouldn't be a secret no more? I don't think there's a real secret, you need to work hard and be determined to get what you want. It also helps to know the right people in the industry.

    7. Any thoughts about forming/opening a Dj booking agency ?

Ahmet Atasever: Not really, I have just started a company with two friends, we have just started touring acts and putting on shows so I think a DJ agency would be too much extra work. We have a Lange & Bart Claessen show in the 21st of August which is looking to be big.

    8. Who in Australia would You ever like to collaborate with ?

Ahmet Atasever: Unbelievably so much talent coming out from Australia lately. We must be really bored and have nothing to do but make music. I am actually working on a track with Alex Garelli who is goes under the alias Groovematic. I would really love to work with people like PQM and Steve May. I think they have a great sound and a good combination of the direction I would like to achieve with my productions.

    9. Looking ahead, what does your future hold ?

Ahmet Atasever: More Producing, more touring and more partying hopefully! Its the dream job.

    10. I know that Sony (in Australia only) and DjMag (worldwide) has already started their "vote casting programme", how do You feel about it, are You somehow curious to find out the new TOP10 or something ?

Ahmet Atasever: With all poll's, in my opinion they are purely fictitious and to the people that are knowledgeable about the scene and industry, know they don't mean much. Unfortunately if you want to be someone and be in the spot light as a DJ you have to appear in these polls and appear in the lists, its just the way it works. Please vote for me if your reading this by the way.

    11. Is it strictly EDM for You... or do You listen to other types of music too ?

Ahmet Atasever: I think like most people I have gone through music phases. Lately I listen to a lot of EDM, but I enjoy other genre's like Chill Out, and even some of the old stuff like good old Cat Stevens.

    12. What will people come to know Ahmet Atasever for ?

Ahmet Atasever: Hard to say. I am still at a very early stage of my music career and yet to make a global break through, but I hope to think its my sound, style and energy on the stage is what I would be known for.

    13. Besides all this, fair enough, what can You tell me about Your "Voyage to Valinor" radio show ?

Ahmet Atasever: My show "Voyage to Valinor" is a monthly show where I put together the latest tracks which are working for me. Generally starting off progressive and building up to some trancey stuff. I am up to episode 15 and already have over 1500 subscribers which is amazing for a show which is only 15 episodes in.

    14. I well remember a picture of You from late 2006, of You, Joven from Tenishia and 4 Strings, been given by Joven himself, but how did You guys meet, any future plans bringing You both in the spotlights ?

Ahmet Atasever: Tenishia were doing some good things so I said to Matt Darey we should ask these guys for a remix. I met Joven that way and we just kept in contact. He then moved to Australia so we became really good friends while he was down here. They will be coming down to Oz again and I hope to get in the studio with them and hopefully work together on a few things.

    15. Please tell me further details about Your role on one of the latest releases from Tenishia "Burning from the inside" along Tiff Lacey.

Ahmet Atasever: While Joven was in Australia he was working on the tune and I really liked it. He wanted to add vocals but wasn't sure who to work with so I suggested we ask Tiff Lacey. I sent the track to Tiff and a week later she sent it back with the vocals. We were waiting on a response to see if she liked it or not, but instead we got the track back with the vocals. It was quite a surprise.

    16. What the future holds for You, any upcoming projects that You would to share further details about it ?

Ahmet Atasever: I am working on 2 tracks which I hope to finish really soon. I also have a collaboration with Groovematic which we are finding it hard to get together to work on, and I have a number of gigs coming up including GodsKitchen Boom Box tour in Melbourne. If you would like to keep up to date with anything I am working on you can visit my website.

    17. One of my last questions for now... Do You have any last words for the ones reading this interview as of the members of TranceSound.net ?

Ahmet Atasever: I would like to thank you for your continued support. Check out my podcast if you get a chance at my official website, its quite different to most of them out there. Thanks again and hope to see you all out some time soon!
