Interview with Solid Syn    ( 15th of March 2008 21:20 GMT UTC )

Interview with Solid Syn
    1. I am very glad that you took the time to have this interview with us, therefore You are known as a promising upcoming Dj and remixer, how do you feel about this ?

SolidBase: No problem, happy to do this interview, really cool that someone is interested in Solid Syn. Well I feel like a door opened for me, I don't produce unless you call making mashups producing/remixing, but I would love to produce my own tunes.

    2. What were you doing before mixing and making trance music ?

SolidBase: A total computer gaming geek, internet nerd I suppose. (laughing)

Synerje: I was being a teenager with a serious attitude problem, some would say a "bitch" (laughs)

    3. I know that you are a couple, You and Synerje, and we all wondered how did u get the idea to mix trance music together ? When all this started ?

Synerje: Well since me and SolidBase are into trance and mixing, then why not, it happened when SolidBase came to Estonia, and after he was using a horrible/improper mixing software that shall not be named, so I taught him Mixmeister, which I was using at the time and we just started mixing together.

SolidBase: I sucked big time before I met Synerje, hahaha.

    4. I would like to ask you as well, how was your life as a Dj and remixer before meeting each other ?

Synerje: Nonexistent, and sucky, since SolidBase is the PR for Solid Syn.

SolidBase: Was not really experienced with being a trance dj / remixer before.

    5. What Djs, producers, or any other EDM related names did you work in the past and which one did you like the most ?

SolidBase: Well I haven't really worked with anyone before I met Synerje. I usually do mashups with other dj's and producers like XDR from XiJaro.

    6. What do you think about the evolution of trance comparing it to the late 90s ?

SolidBase: It really has changed over the years, but it changes more and more every year now. There are so many styles of Trance now, not like before. Its gonna keep changing, and change is something can be either good o bad, but for the most part its good.

Synerje: Well it depends, since most of the artists nowadays are new and changing the whole genre alot comparing to the 90's, but I think it has evolved for the better, and it will keep evolving. Probably ten years from now, we will look back to 2008 and say "WOW, that was really old school", like we do now comparing 2008 with the 90's.

    7. For other people that doesn't`t know, you have a radio show on Sense.FM so can you please tell me more about it ?

SolidBase: It is a radio show reflecting on both different sides of Solid Syn, for example Fire & Ice, we both have our own styles of mixing and music that we listen to and we combine them as Synful Vibes.

    8. Please tell us a few of Your mashups You ever made and if there are any other future releases.

SolidBase: You can find the list of the mashups on the Solid Syn website (www.raynestorm.net/solidsyn), there will be more in the future. Can't really predict anything right now, but there will be more, who knows maybe even a single by me or Solid Syn.

    9. Talking about mashups and bootlegs, I have been told that You are one of the top leaders, along people like the Dutch XDR (Xijaro), what do You have to say about that ?

SolidBase: WOW, that's a great compliment, I wouldn't say that about myself. I'm really a big fan of XDR's, his mashups are fantastic. Basically he is sorta like a mentor for me, a teacher.

    10. Do you have any future projects of working with other producers ? And if yes can you tell us with who they are as well ?

SolidBase: Like I said, can't really predict anything, I would love to produce with Super8 and Tab, love their sound, but I can't say that I am, because I'm not, but would love to.

    11. Please tell us further details about Your collaboration with Tiff Lacey and what is all about, thanks.

Synerje: Well basically we just manage her website and forum, but would love to produce with her because she has the best voice in the scene.

    12. Are You into gigs at bigger clubs or events or you feel comfortable and closer to your fans in a smaller one ?

Synerje: I for one would love to do gigs at bigger clubs with more feedback from the audience.

SolidBase: Would love to do gigs, and events. Would be an awesome experience.

    13. Before we wrap up this exclusive interview, do You have anything to say to all TranceSound.net members or anyone reading this interview ?

Synerje: First of all, it is great to do guest mixes for TranceSound, the members are giving such great feedback, for those who doesn't know Solid Syn visit our myspace (myspace.com/solidsynmusic) and I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

SolidBase: TranceSound is a great community, make sure to tune into Synful Vibes every 2nd & 4th Wednesday on Sense.fm and for anyone wants their tune to be played on Synful Vibes just contact us through myspace or our website and let us know.
