Interview with Tenthu    ( 15.12.2006 - 16:50 GMT UTC )

    1. Please introduce Yourself to the TranceSound.net community as a person and also as an artist too

Tenthu: Hi guys! My real name is Kirill Salyakhov, I was born and living in Moscow, Russia. This time I have two aliases for different styles of music. The first one is my main Tenthu. I produce trance/progressive under this guise. And the second one is Slimheticz, it’s my side alias for electro and house stuff. First track will be released on re-launched Novascape Recordings coming January 2007 and it will be my electro-house remix for Manual Addicts - Siberian Dawn

    2. How do You feel that Russian EDM (Electronic Dance Music) evolved lately. You guys have Bobina, Vadim Zhukov, Tenthu.. Russian scene is amaizing lately

Tenthu: Oh yes, Russians are growing day by day! I really love productions by Vadim Zhukov, Alex Monakhov, Ilya Malyuev, Capsula (it’s his remix of my tune “Essencia” became Future Favorite in one of recent ASOT episodes), Aurosonic etc. There are many friends of mine among them. Every week I hear a new name of a man who produces a real top quality stuff, and it’s only a question of time when the massmedia of russian producers will be everywhere :)

    3. Have You ever been to any clubs in Ibiza, the United Kingdom or even overseas yet? such as Australia or United States of America ?

Tenthu: Actually no, though I love traveling across the continent, but I’m going to! There’s a trip in my plans in March 2007 (after exams in my university) to Netherlands Utrecht, to Trance Energy 2007 and then I’ll go to Amsterdam for a week. I’m also invited to play in some cities of South Africa and England next year and I’m very impatient waiting this!

    4. Tell me where Your inspiration is coming from ?

Tenthu: Hehe, it’s good question! Well, I’m taking it from everywhere! It can be a new girl I made familiar with lately, any positive moment in my life and just a good weather! But of course I get new ideas in the morning after night clubbing here, in Moscow.

    5. Also, please tell me the best record You ever made, the one that really made You famous, and not only, the one that really gives You a lot of support from Djs and producers world wide.

Tenthu: I’d name my latest release on John Askew’s Discover label - Stay Away which includes Original and Sassot remix in it - it’s widely supported by almost all top djs, and I’m very glad with this fact. And this track is also my favorite among all other productions that were released.

    6. Where do You think that digital music will head to ? Do You believe that several tracks are getting morelike tech to You and several other well known Djs are getting there day by day ?

Tenthu: Every producer tries to find exactly HIS/HER cutaway and that’s the reason of different style mixes. As for me - I’m "developing my invention" now. I found the thing that no one did and I hope to be successed with it. But now it’s a military secret!

    7. When You`ll ever release an album and how many tracks You reckon it will ever have ?

Tenthu: I hope it will happen in the end of 2007, at least in Russia and about worldwide I can’t say anything right now. It will be mixed with intro and outro, a couple of interludes. It will consist of something about 60% of deep progressive tunes and the rest of it will be uplifting.

    8. Which other DJ's or producers do you like working with the most ?

Tenthu: I love what creates Russian producer Capsula (Alexey Zhdanov), his progressive style is very unique, I’m sure he will have success on the scene. And we have some collaborations waiting to be finished. I’ve also started some tracks with Matt Abbott, Emotional Horizons, Eliran Haliva. All together with Alex Monakhov also planning to start a track next month. It all will be finished the only thing needed is much free time for this!

    9. Would You call Yourself more of a producer or Dj ?

Tenthu: First of all I’m a producer and I’ll never leave it. And about djing - I’m going to start performances in 2007, thanks God that i have many suggestions about it!

    10. Please tell also who has influenced You as a producer all this time ? There is must he someone ort a group of people that has an influence on Your work tho.

Tenthu: Well, my style was forming mainly under the influence of such guys like Paul van Dyk, Blank & Jones, Darude, Rank 1 to name a few.

    11. Your parents had an impact on Your music and were You taught to play any instruments when You were young ?

Tenthu: No they didn’t. My mom had died in the car accident in 2000 and I don’t remember my father because he left this world because of the heart disease when I was only 4 years old. But I know for sure that my mother wasn’t against me everyday sitting behind the pc spinning faders in Fruity Loops, I have a dream to learn playing grand piano!

    12. Several people think that trance scene is having a dead time at the moment what do You think about that ?

Tenthu: I think it will never die as a style, it will be either more popular or less. It’s not dead now, it’s just rebirthing with a new face!

    13. Please say something for the TranceSound.net community and what do You believe about TranceSound.net as a website and trance portal so far.

Tenthu: It’s a very nice place and it has all reasons to grow more and more! Thanks for your convenient forum! And enjoy this life with edm music!
